Therapy
Any therapeutic work would have to be based upon a comprehensive assessment of therapeutic need.
The assessment involves:- Obtaining and reading background information
- Meeting with present carers and professionals
- Meeting with the young person
- Risks
- Aims and objectives
- Conclusions with regard to therapeutic need
- Recommendations for any therapeutic work
- That where necessary, and appropriate the therapist will be proactive and directive in the content of the session
- The work should be inclusive of current carers
- That adults are responsible for making decisions about young people, with due consideration and respect for their wants and needs
- That safe nurturing touch has to be part of any therapeutic package of care
